Simon Coveney tweeted yesterday:
‘Ireland continues to advocate for the strongest possible sanctions….The cost for Russia of continued war must be very high, to maximise pressure to bring it to an end…”
Maybe the Taoiseach and Minister for Foreign Affairs should have thought of the consequences before engaging in sabre rattling
The Taoiseach’s words condemning the ‘sinister Russian TV report showing nuclear attack on Ireland’ yesterday as reported in the Irish Times, ring hollow as the State dragged Ireland into this.
All the establishment political parties have sided with NATO and by doing so have not considered the well-being of the people of Ireland or for the potential of the spilling over of this conflict in Ukraine.
This is precisely why the vast majority of people when asked by the Irish Times poll were adamant that Ireland should retain neutrality.
Ireland requires a People’s Referendum under Article 29(4)(9) of the Irish Constitution to join the EU Common Defence Policy.
The State are continually undermining and eroding our Irish Constitution, for example declaring support for a legally binding WHO Pandemic Treaty and by advocating for the EU Common Defence policy in Ukraine.
